Bundle up! The outerwear you need to stay warm this winter

Jessica Strople

Temperatures are quickly dropping and your fall coat simply will not do. As Canadians, we know the importance of a good winter coat. These choices will keep you warm and looking great – snow or shine.

1. A fur vest. Fur detail is everywhere this winter. Not only will you be on trend – but also comfy and cozy. Try layering over another jacket on especially chilly days.

2. Wrap coat. Tie yourself tight with a wrap jacket. You won’t even need a scarf with this over-sized collar.

3. Parka. Sometimes, no matter how beautiful your other jackets are, you need to reach for the warmest one. A winter coat must be two things: down-filled (the puffier the better) and long (hopefully long enough to reach where your boots end!).

4. Over-sized boyfriend jacket. The bigger the better! The best part - you can pile on as many layers underneath as you please.

I love all four types of jackets, but a warm parka is at the top of my Christmas wish list. My last jacket has gotten me through quite a few cold winters, but an upgrade is long overdue. No matter which coat has caught your eye this winter – stay toasty!
